product details

Oak is the log for a cold night and a long evening. It’s the densest hardwood we sell: a touch slower to catch than birch, then hours of steady, high heat from one or two logs an hour. Light it at seven and you’re still warm at eleven.

Every log is kiln dried to under 18% moisture, well inside the Ready to Burn limit (certificate WS6414), so it lights first time, burns clean and keeps your stove glass clear. Cut to 25cm to fit any UK stove, open fire or firepit.

Each order is three boxes of logs, 8–10kg each, packed inside one outer box: around 30 logs and 27kg in all, roughly 25% more than our old woven bags. Carry one box in at a time and stack the rest; no mess, no loose load. Order by 2pm and it’s at your door the next working day, free, tracked by DHL. Not happy with your logs? Tell us within 14 days and we’ll put it right.

storage & lighting

Storing

Keep the box somewhere dry and off the ground: a garage, shed, porch or covered log store. Kiln dried logs take moisture back in if they’re left out in the weather, so don’t leave them uncovered.

Lighting

  • Two or three oak logs on a bed of kindling, one firelighter underneath.
  • Air vents fully open until the logs are well caught, then close down to taste.
  • Oak takes a minute longer to catch than birch, then holds its heat; one or two logs an hour is usually plenty.

Stop feeding the stove every twenty minutes

Oak is the densest log we sell. A touch slower to catch than birch, then a steady, high heat for hours from one or two logs an hour. Light it at seven and you’re still warm at eleven, without getting up. Every log is kiln dried to under 18% moisture and checked with a meter before it leaves us. That’s why it lights first go, burns hot and clean, and doesn’t tar up your glass or flue.

Better fires start with bone dry wood

Most stove problems come from burning wood that’s still wet inside.

Typical seasoned firewood

Slower, more frustrating fires that can take longer to properly get going

Excess moisture creates heavier smoke and more smouldering around the firepit

More of the fire’s energy is wasted drying the logs instead of producing usable heat

Kiln dried oak, under 18% moisture

Holds a steady, high heat for hours from one or two logs an hour

Burns clean and slow, with less smoke and no tar on the glass

Dense, heavy logs, so a box goes further than lighter woods

Everything you need for a better fire.
