product details

Alder is the quickest of our logs to get going. It catches easily, throws a bright, lively flame and gives off a gentle, sweet smell as it burns, which is why it’s the one we reach for on an open fire, in a pizza oven, or for a short evening in front of the stove.

It’s a lighter hardwood than oak or birch, so it burns a little faster and doesn’t hold heat as long; think quick warmth and a good-looking fire rather than an all-nighter. If you want a log that lasts, go for oak. If you want something that lights without any fuss and looks great doing it, this is it.

Every log is kiln dried to under 18% moisture, Ready to Burn certified, cut to around 25cm and packed in a 60-litre woven bag inside a cardboard box, so it arrives clean and dry, ready to burn the day it lands.

delivery & returns

Free next working day delivery

Free to most mainland UK postcodes, no minimum order. Order by 2pm Monday to Friday and we dispatch the same day.

How it's packed

Every maxi bag goes inside a heavy-duty double-wall cardboard box to protect the logs in transit.

Tracking

Sent by DHL with full tracking, a one-hour delivery window on the day, and the option to choose a safe place or rearrange.

Surcharge areas

Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight, Cornwall and the Scottish Highlands and Islands carry a small surcharge and take one or two days longer. Enter your postcode above for your exact date and cost.

Larger orders

Two or more bags may arrive as separate parcels, sometimes on different vans. If only part of your order turns up, the rest is on its way. If it hasn't all arrived within the expected time, get in touch and we'll sort it.

Returns & guarantee

Not happy with your logs? Tell us within 14 days of delivery and we'll put it right with a replacement, a credit or a refund. Logs are heavy, so we won't ask you to send anything back; a quick photo is usually all we need.

storage & lighting

Storage

Keep the bag somewhere dry and off the ground: a garage, shed, porch or covered log store. Kiln dried logs will take moisture back in if they're left out in the rain, so keep them covered. The box they arrive in is fine for a few weeks; for longer, tip them into a log store with some airflow.

Lighting

  • A couple of firelighters or a handful of kindling in the centre of the grate.
  • Two or three logs on top, loosely, so air can get between them.
  • Light it, vents fully open, door slightly ajar for the first few minutes if your stove allows.
  • Once the logs have caught, close the door and bring the vents down to a steady burn.
  • Add one log at a time as it burns down; don't pack the firebox.

Stop struggling to light damp, unreliable firewood.

Title

Outdoor fires should light easily, burn cleanly and create steady heat without excessive smoke or constant attention. Poorly seasoned logs often do the opposite, smouldering heavily and wasting much of the fire’s energy evaporating excess moisture before proper combustion can begin.

Our kiln-dried logs are dried below 18% moisture for a brighter, cleaner burn that ignites quickly, produces lively flames and delivers reliable heat from the very first fire.

Better fires start with
properly dried wood.

Most outdoor fire issues come from using logs with excess moisture.

Title

Typical seasoned firewood

Slower, more frustrating fires that can take longer to properly get going

Excess moisture creates heavier smoke and more smouldering around the firepit

More of the fire’s energy is wasted drying the logs instead of producing usable heat

Kiln-Dried Alder Below 18% Moisture

Lights quickly and reliably with lively natural flames

Burns cleaner with less unnecessary smoke and smouldering

Produces bright, consistent heat because less energy is wasted on excess moisture

Everything you need for a better fire.
