product details

A full winter of oak in one delivery: a 1.5m³ crate with 1.2m³ of logs hand-stacked four rows deep inside, which is 2m³ of loose logs. Around 395 logs and 550kg (roughly three bulk bags’ worth), the same kiln dried, Ready to Burn oak as our woven bags at the lowest price per log we sell.

Oak is the densest log we sell. A touch slower to catch, then hours of steady, high heat from one or two logs an hour. If you light the stove most nights from now until March, this is the crate: one delivery, no running out.

The crate measures 108 × 115 × 120cm on the outside; the logs fill 105 × 110 × 105cm inside, four rows of 25cm logs deep. Every log is kiln dried to under 18% moisture (Ready to Burn certificate WS6414) and cut to 25cm to fit any UK stove. Hand-stacked, not tipped, so you get wood, not air. Order by 2pm Monday to Friday and it’s with you the next working day, kerbside by Palletline, free to most UK postcodes. Spread the cost over 3 interest-free payments with Shop Pay.

storage & lighting

Storing

Keep the crate wrapped until you need it and unwrap the top only, so the logs stay dry and you can take from the top as you go. A garage, barn or covered spot off the ground is ideal. Kiln dried logs take moisture back in if they’re left out in the weather.

Lighting

  • Two or three oak logs on a bed of kindling, one firelighter underneath.
  • Air vents fully open until the logs are well caught, then close down to taste.
  • Oak takes a minute longer to catch, then holds its heat; one or two logs an hour is usually plenty.

Stop running out in the middle of a cold snap

Hours of steady heat from one or two logs an hour, every night until March. Every log is kiln dried to under 18% moisture and checked with a meter before it leaves us. That’s why it lights first go, burns hot and clean, and doesn’t tar up your glass or flue.

Better fires start with bone dry wood

Most of the complaints we hear about bulk loads come down to two things: wet logs and air gaps.

Typical seasoned firewood

Slower, more frustrating fires that can take longer to properly get going

Excess moisture creates heavier smoke and more smouldering around the firepit

More of the fire’s energy is wasted drying the logs instead of producing usable heat

Kiln dried oak firewood crate, under 18% moisture

Hand-stacked, not tipped, so you get wood, not air

Same kiln dried, Ready to Burn logs as our bags at the lowest price per log

One delivery, no running out, no waiting on a tipper lorry

Everything you need for a better fire.
