DELIVERY
All Birch crates are delivered next working day when ordered before 12pm. Tracking is sent once your pallet arrives at the local hub (usually around 10pm), and you’ll receive an ETA from there.
Delivered on an 18-tonne tail-lift vehicle (same size as a bin lorry). The crate is securely wrapped and shower-resistant.
We can only guarantee kerbside drop-off, but drivers are friendly and will usually try their best to get the pallet where you want it as long as access and ground conditions allow.
– Hard, flat ground for the pallet truck
– No steep slopes, gravel, or soft surfaces
– Road access suitable for an 18t vehicle
Deliveries run 8am–6pm, Monday–Friday. For full details on access requirements, vehicles and tracking, see our delivery information.
DESCRIPTION
Our kiln-dried Birch logs provide fast, clean heat with a moisture content below 20%. Birch lights easily, produces a bright lively flame and delivers strong heat output, making it ideal for log burners, multi-fuel stoves, fire pits and pizza ovens. The Ready to Burn moisture level ensures consistent, efficient performance in all modern appliances.
Each crate is tightly hand-stacked to reduce air gaps and maximise usable firewood. A full crate is roughly equivalent to 1.8m³ of loose-filled logs, offering excellent value for regular use. Birch is one of the most popular hardwoods due to its quick ignition and attractive flame, and the wood-burning chart shows how it compares with Alder and Oak. Our full crate range also includes alternative species for different burn profiles.
Every crate contains 100% Birch hardwood, with no mixing. Kiln drying results in a cleaner burn, improved stove efficiency and reduced soot build-up compared to higher-moisture logs. Before dispatch, each crate is covered with a shower-resistant top sheet and fully shrink-wrapped for protection during transit. Further details can be found in the delivery information.

Birch bark lights easily, catching fast with a strong flame. A full crate means you’ve always got an easy-starting log on hand.
Birch produces tall, bright flames that give off both heat and a traditional firelight glow. It’s perfect for creating warmth and ambience in equal measure.
With a full crate stacked neatly, you’ve got a ready supply to see you through the colder months. Birch burns faster than oak, but the crate volume makes sure you never run short.
Logs arrive kiln-dried and tightly stacked in a wooden crate. Pallet delivery keeps them protected and makes storage simple once unloaded.
How big is a crate of birch logs?
A full crate of birch is about the same as 2.5 builders bags of loose logs. The logs are stacked neatly in a wooden crate, which makes them easier to store.
How long will a birch crate last?
It depends how much you burn. For occasional evening fires a crate can last months. If you burn every day, it should still keep you stocked for several weeks.
Is birch good firewood for stoves?
Yes. Birch lights easily and gives a bright, lively flame. It’s perfect for stoves where you want quick heat and a strong flame pattern.
Is birch better than oak for burning?
Birch is better if you want easy lighting and quick heat. Oak is better if you want logs that last for hours. Many people burn birch to get the fire going, then switch to oak.
How is a birch crate delivered?
Crates are delivered on a pallet with a tail-lift truck. They’re set down kerbside or on your driveway, ready to move and store.
How should I store a birch crate?
Keep it in a dry, ventilated space. If stored outside, cover the top against rain but leave the sides open for airflow.
